If you really aren’t that keen on joining the potentially slow migration of out of Sydney, there is an alternative. You don’t have to go far to have a good time and doesn't have to cost much. It's a long weekend, make the most of it. The Crave Sydney International Food Festival - 1st to 31st October 2011Do you like food? The Crave Sydney International Food Festival has a lot on its plate this year. With hundreds of individual event listings, it will be Sydney's biggest food month ever. Highlights include dining with lions, which hopefully doesn't mean all the food will be "roar", 100-mile meals, the huge World Chef Showcase and the hugely popular Night Noodle Markets. Breakfast on the Bridge? Not this YearThe unique and popular Breakfast on the (Sydney Harbour) Bridge has been replaced by breakfast in Bondi. Not quite the same, well not even close really but should still be good. There is loads more and not everything is in the city so check out the link and movie below. Manly Jazz Festival - 1st - 3rd October 2011The Manly Jazz Festival is the largest and longest running festival of its kind in Australia and provides a non essential impetus to make the voyage across the water to a faraway shore. Well half an hour once you have lined up for your ticket. With a relaxed atmosphere and a breathtaking Ocean Beachfront backdrop, the festival location is considered to be second to none in the world of jazz and most other worlds to. The Manly Jazz Festival continues to attract the finest Jazz performers and Jazz listeners both nationally and internationally. Its a must do if you are into Jazz, and pretty close even if you aren't.

The Manly Jazz FestivalManly Arts and Craft MarketThe Manly Markets offers a unique range of Australian designed and made fashion and accessories, jewellery, home wares, object design, photography furniture, arts & craft. The Manly Markets are open every Saturday and Sunday between 10am – 5pm. You will find them in Sydney Road near "The Corso".
