What do we say about a thing you'd like to do in Sydney? Where does it rank? Where can you find more information about a Sydney attraction or tour? Where are the best places to stay in Sydney? Should you hire a car? What about spiders and snakes and sharks and all those other Australian nasties?

What if I have a specific enquiry?

We suggest you just type in your enquiry into the search box. For example if you type in "What is byo" you should see the answer in the search results without even opening the page. The answer is "Bring Your Own" Alcohol.

Why do you have search at all?

We'll take that as a compliment! You can just follow the pages down from the top thing to do in Sydney and you should get a few good ideas as to what to do whilst in Sydney. The search is more of a back up. For example, where's the Sydney Opera House listed? You'll never guess (No. 69).

Why are so many pages listed for my Sydney100 search enquiry?

If you were to search for Darling Harbour you will find several pages listed. Second on the list you should find "Sydney Top 5". This is a good place to start as it forms part of the listing of Sydney attractions and things to do. The other pages may only refer to Darling Harbour in passing.

I know a top thing to do in Sydney that's not listed!

Firstly, Search Sydney is good for this as it might be there just under a different heading. For example, we have listed Sydney Wild World, but not under its own name. So it would easy to miss. (it's listed under Sydney Aquarium at 26). Why not list it under its own name? Well, that's a really good question. The answer varies from listing to listing. In Sydney Wild World's case it is listed at 26 because it backs onto Sydney Aquarium and the two things are often packaged together. Sydney Wild World probably wouldn't rank this highly on its own. So it just backs on to the Aquarium's listing just as the building backs onto the Aquarium's building. Now there's too much information :) Anyway, we love suggestions and often include them on the list. So please tell us yours.

Don't remember something you read on Sydney100? Use Search Sydney

Does the internet rot your brain? Search me! :) American Psychologists have discovered that we are increasingly turning to internet search (though, not necessarily Search Sydney) when we want to find the answer to a question. Dr Betsy Sparrow of Columbia University has shown that we are much better at remembering where we might find a piece of information, than remembering the information itself. So, logically, as internet search has become more reliable and easy to use, people have turned to the internet rather than rely on their own memories. Don't be soon concerned however, the scientists don't believe that this is detrimental to our brains or that it is permanent. As for me, I'd call it conserving my mental resources for more important things like..is it beer o'clock yet? :) So it's ok if you have forgotten something - just Search Sydney for it!

Why is there more than one page on a given subject

A good answer to why you might find more than one page is we have so much we want to prattle on about that we have not only listed an attraction on the main pages but have also set up a dedicated page. An example of this is Taronga Zoo, however, that might not be the full story. Sydney100 is about 6 years old. Middle aged by internet standards. Consequently we have grown out a bit and could maybe lose a bit of weight. So if we have duplicated something please let us know and we will burn it off, slim it down or otherwise get into shape (or try to).
