111 Parramatta
The Rivercat ferry will take you twenty plus kilometres out to
the wild wild west of Parramatta
and you'd still won't be in the geographic centre of Sydney. You'll
see mangroves, Olympic Park, houses and houses and warehouses along
the way. It is certainly something for ferry buffs with an interest
in history and ‘old’ buildings or maybe just a pleasant
way of seeing some more of Sydney.

112 Macquarie Street
If you enjoyed Hyde Park Barracks you might enjoy a walk up towards
Sydney Harbour along Macquarie Street. More 'old' buildings including
Sydney Hospital and New South Wales Parliament House (that's State
not Federal)

113 Hang Gliding, Stanwell Park / Bald
Hill and Bulli
Pay a visit to watch the unfortunate souls who are mad enough to
go lemming off of a cliff. The wind has to be in the right direction
which only occurs about once every four years.... I maybe slightly
confused here but if you do want to see some very brave people defy
the laws of nature take a drive out to Stanwell Park.
Bulli
You can keep going to Bulli. They have finally fixed the road and
greatly enhanced the experience. The road is one of the best coastal
drives in Australia and gives you plenty of time to explain to your
six or sixty six year old that throwing themselves off of a cliff
isn't going to happen in your lifetime or theirs. If you find you
have the urge please seek help.
Warriewood Beach - Northern Beaches
Warriewood Beach is a beautiful area as is much of the Northern
Beaches. It is also another favoured spot for people dangling underneath
what looks like a parachute a few hundred metres off the ground.
Worth checking out if you are passing on your way to Palm Beach.

114 Sydney Observatory
We are stardust and we are golden. For more than just Astronomy
check out their web site below. The Observatory is close to Rocks,
Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Theatre Company.

115 Sydney Theatre Company
Love the theatre darling! This is one way to see it without actually
having to sit through a performance. The Sydney Theatre Company
<STC> lives on a converted wharf close to the Sydney Harbour
Bridge and not far from Observatory Hill. Apart from the view across
Sydney Harbour there are arty things to look at and a café
restaurant at the end of pier four in Walsh Bay. If you would like
to dine at the Wharf Restaurant I'd suggest you book (02) 9250 1761
Rumoured they run an organised tour on Thursdays at 10am. Ring
to confirm. |
116 Chinamans Beach
Chinamans Beach is a nice family friendly spot with a large grassy
area that leads down to a small sheltered beach. At low tide it
is possible to walk to Balmoral
Beach.

117 Penrith
Visit Panthers at Penrith (on the way to the Blue Mountains) for
man made white-water for rafting and other fun water things.

118 North Sydney Oval
Some nice but restricted views across Sydney Harbour from North
Sydney Oval’s south eastern corner close to the footbridge.
Cricket and Rugby are played at the North Sydney Oval itself. There
is also the Star Light Cinema which operates out of North Sydney
Stadium from January to March. If you can make the periodic market
in Miller Street close to the North Sydney CBD grab some food and
walk it off in the Oval and/or keep going to the Oaks (large beer
garden – big oak tree) in Neutral Bay where you’ll allowed
to reward yourself with a beer, a glass of wine or something stronger.

119 Kirribilli House, Kirribilli
Currently the Kirribilli House of John the warrior PM. Open days
are limited to once or twice a year which is pretty poor going really.
To compensate the Prime Minister power walks /morning constitutional
around in a green and gold tracksuit so ask if you can drop by for
tea. If he refuses you could try protesting 'Johnny, Johnny, Johnny
(let me) in, in ,in’ outside of Kirribilli House. Failing
that, an uncomplimentary photo of John Howard could earn you a free
trip home
Kirribilli has some nice views but it can be difficult to walk
very far without hitting the back streets. There is Lady Gowie Lookout
for looking out towards Sydney Heads.
