21 (22) Walk from
Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach
The walk from Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach is another classic. Walk
from Bondi to Coogee Beach and be greeted by fantastic views, beautiful
beaches, cliffs and even an old cemetery (Waverley) with unimpeded
views out to sea. Tamarama (Glamarama so they say), one of the places
you will come across, has a café very close to the beach
and is a good spot to rest along the way. Allow three to four hours
and take your time. Note the lack of fences between Bondi and Coogee
Beaches so please keep a close rein on the kiddies.

22 (23) Sexy Coogee Beach
Visit Coogee Beach - the backpacker capital of the world!! Well
sometimes Coogee feels like it. Apart from beach itself, Coogee
has great views and walks to either Bronte/Bondi or Maroubra.
For a view whilst munching head for the southern end of Coogee
Beach for breakfast and lunch. Be prepared to wait for a table if
you arrive after 10am at weekends.
On the north side of Coogee Beach you’ll find the Beach Palace
Hotel. If you can still do it without paying, climb to the top bar
of the Beach Palace Hotel, get a cold drink and sit yourself down
on the veranda and enjoy the view out to sea and across Coogee Beach.
Ah..the way life is meant to be - no worries.
For music fans the Coogee Bay and Beach Palace Hotels cater for
you with all kinds provided it's loud and usually involves jumping
around a lot. For the brave there's a kebab shop directly opposite
the Coogee Bay Hotel open till very late.
23 (15) Doyles at Watsons Bay
Something about Doyles at Watson's Bay. Is a little over priced
and often crowded but the staff are fun and friendly and the view
says - 'stop worrying, relax and have another drink' or maybe that
was the waiter but either way its a great spot.
With good friends, nice wine and sound of the waves lapping against
the beach it’s harder to think of a more pleasant way to spend
a sunny afternoon than at Watson's Bay. Catch the ferry from Circular
Quay and be prepared to loosen the belt, empty the wallet (or purse)
and seriously chill.
Click for Doyles Web site
- As well as Doyles at Watson's Bay restaurant there's a Doyles
at Circular Quay

24 Sydney Scenic Flights - Get over Sydney and
see her in all her glory
Be blown away by a scenic flight over Sydney Harbour Up there with
life's unforgettable experiences. Don't forget your camera.
Sydney
- take a good look at a good looker
Taking off from Australia's first international airport at Rose
Bay, it is hard not to be awed as beautiful Sydney Harbour unveils
itself beneath. The immaculately restored, classic Beaver seaplane
adds to the nostalgia - such a contrast to the myriad of high-tech
cruisers zigzagging the bay.
Here's
looking at you Sydney
As you gently exit the harbour rolling swells crash against the
magnificent sandstone cliffs which rise abruptly from the sea.
You fly along these cliffs at 500 feet until reaching world famous
Bondi Beach. The pilot manoeuvres the aircraft so that all on board
have a great view, and you will marvel at the hundreds of surfers
waiting for the next big wave.
From Bondi you head back into the harbour and climb to 1000 feet,
even for a seasoned local the vista is truly stunning. We track
all the way to the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, and complete
a circuit above both famous icons.
You will be thrilled when you land and be tempted to do it again.
Gliding Over Sydney
Gliding
is an experience like no other
Climb to approximately 3500 feet above Camden in a state of the
art self launching glider. Once you reach 3500 feet your pilot will
switch off the engine and you will be soaring like a bird. During
your flight you will be able to take the controls at certain stages
under the guidance of your instructor to experience for yourself
how easily the glider can be controlled, or you can just sit back
and enjoy the view. After seeing the sights of the surrounding area
you will glide back to the airport for a landing.

25 Hunter Valley
As though Sydney isn't blessed enough we have the beautiful Hunter
Valley Wineries just two and half hours north of Sydney. Advisable
to overnight, get someone else to drive or join a Hunter Valley
tour. Beautiful scenery, lovely hospitality and the wine's not bad
either. Visit the smaller Hunter Valley wineries for more personal
service and unique wines. Some, if not most, of the wines sold by
the larger concerns in the Hunter Valley are retailed in Sydney
at below cellar door prices.

Tours of the Hunter Valley
I’m not all that keen on tours either but visiting the Hunter

a nominated/tea total driver.
